This project not only evidenced the skill and dedication of our artisans at Coral as it also reinforced the commitment the brand has with the preservation of cultural patrimony.

Conclusion

This project demonstrated Coral’s ability to deal with complex restoration and replication projects, highlighting the importance of preserving cultural heritage. The dedication and skills of the artisans were crucial for the success of this project, reassuring Coral as a reference in high sculpture and restoration projects.

The challenge

The Pharmaceutical Order’s headquarters, built in 1901 with the effort and dedication of pharmacists, is in a renovation process to attend to current needs and demands. An essential part of this project included the restoration of the Order’s centenary symbol, a historic piece that reached Coral in fragments.

The solution

As it received the fragmented piece, the team at Coral started by recreating the matrix, using photos taken in situ. Each fragment was meticulously examined to understand the organic movements and nature of the designs. Our highly experienced specialists in the Atelier started the task of filling the blanks and restoring the integrity of the piece.

After finishing the matrix, the next step was creating an accurate mold. This mold allowed the team to create the first replica, which then had to be molded in order to be faithful to the original symbol, maintaining every characteristic and detail of the centenary piece. This process demanded a high level of precision and technical knowledge, aspects that Coral masters thanks to the vast experience of its artisans.

The final result was an impeccable replica of the Pharmaceutical Order’s symbol that not only preserves the institution’s history and legacy, but also tends to contemporary needs of the headquarters’ renovation. The replica, now belonging to the renovated building, symbolizes the continuity and respect for tradition while projecting the Order into the future.
