Exclusive Plaster Columns for the historic Heritage Hotel

This project involved the creation of completely exclusive plaster columns, with the goal of providing a luxurious and truly eclectic environment with a contemporary design to this hotel.

The challenge

Working for client Artworks, the main challenge of this project was conceptualizing cascades made of plaster in a circular format while incorporating indirect lighting, rigorously respecting the measurements supplied by the client. Each detail was carefully planned and executed to ensure perfection in proportions and final aesthetic.

The solution

Coral used traditional geometry methods to handcraft each column with a unique identity. The choice of natural plaster as the main material was influenced by its thermal and chemical-free nature, attending to the client’s desire of creating a sensorially unique and luxurious environment. Besides its thermal properties, plaster can be painted according to the client’s taste, providing greater comfort and customization to the environment.

The partnership with Artworks was fundamental to the execution of this project. During this period, both teams worked together, dedicating a meticulous attention to detail and to the aesthetic authenticity of the columns. The production of the pieces, which lasted just 40 days, required an arduous and coordinated effort which resulted in dazzlingly elegant columns.

After creating the structures, the columns were painted gold, granting a touch of opulence and sophistication to the environment.

In January 2023, the Historic Heritage Hotel inaugurated its new luxurious and modern space, retaining all of its history. The plaster columns, with an exclusive design and golden finish, are now a highlight in the hotel, providing guests an unique and sensorially rich aesthetic experience.
