An exclusive collaboration with the interior design studio Intemporaneo, Madeira

The Vine Leaves project was born from a collaboration with the Madeira-based interior design studio Intemporaneo, who led the design of the restaurant at Hotel Quinta do Furão, in Santana.

The concept required presence, identity, and a deep connection to place, a sculptural interpretation of the vine leaf, a meaningful symbol of the landscape and cultural heritage in which the hotel is set.

The solution

At Coral Atelier, the process began with the hand-sculpting of three original models, faithfully capturing the proportions, veins, and organic irregularities inherent to the vine leaf.

After the sculpting phase, the original models were carefully cast in plaster, ensuring precision, intricate detailing, and uniformity across each piece.

To guarantee that the pieces would be ready for immediate installation upon arrival in Madeira, we completed all finishing and painting according to the colour defined by Intemporaneo, enabling a seamless and efficient on-site installation.

Each piece left our atelier fully completed, ready to become part of the space and bring the project’s vision to life.

The challenge

The challenge was clear:
to elevate vine leaves into large-scale sculptural elements with striking visual presence, while maintaining their delicacy, sense of movement, and organic authenticity.

Working closely within the design studio’s guidelines, we developed three distinct models:

• 1000 mm in diameter

• 700 mm in diameter

• 500 mm in diameter

Each leaf was meant to embody natural grace, lifelike texture, and a sense of visual lightness, even in its grand, imposing scale.

Conclusion

This was a project that filled us with great joy and pride.

Beyond crafting decorative elements, we had the chance to give form to a powerful design vision, shaping the identity of a space that honors its land and heritage.

Today, the Vine Leaves stand as a testament to what inspires us most: turning ideas into unique creations, sculpted with care, sensitivity, and unwavering dedication.
